The Glimmerglass Festival Announces 2024 Festival Season

The Glimmerglass Festival released the details of its 2024 Festival season, titled “Identity & Illusion.”

Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance” stars Craig Irvin, Christian Mark Gibbs, and Elizabeth Sutphen in their Glimmerglass debuts. They are joined by returning member Eve Gigliotti, and the 2024 Young Artists Joshua Thomas, Tshilidzi Ndou, Saane Halaholo, Alexandra Sanchez, and Emma Sucato. Joseph Colaneri conducts and Seán Curran serves as director and choreographer.

Performance Dates: July 22 – August 19, 2024

Opening next is Cavalli’s “La Calisto.” The cast includes Young Artists Emilie Kealani, Kyle Tingzon, Winona Martin, Amanda Sheriff, Namarea Randolph-Yosea, and Cameron Rolling. Taylor Raven, Eve Gigliotti, Craig Irvin, and Schyler Vargas are also among the cast. Artistic & General Director Rob Ainsley’s leads his 2013 realization of the score. Mo Zhou directs.

Performance Dates: July 23 – August 17, 2024

Brenna Conner’s new production of “Pagliacci” stars Robert Stahley as Canio in his company debut. Amber Monroe sings the role of Nedda, with Troy Cook as Tonio, and Young Artists Jonathan Patton as Silvio and Fran Daniel Laucerica in the role of Beppe. Colaneri conducts.

Performance Dates: July 27 – August 18, 2024

Kevin Puts and Mark Campbell’s “Elizabeth Cree” features Tara Erraught, Christian Mark Gibbs, John Chest, Elizabeth Sutphen, and Schyler Vargasm, as well as 2024 Young Artists Emily Harmon, Seiyoung Kim, and Jason Zacher. Kelly Kuo conducts. Alison Moritz directs.

Performance Dates: July 28- August 20, 2024
