The Frederick R. Koch ‘Live From Elm Court’ Video Concert Series Returns

By Afton Wooten

The “Live From Elm Court” concert series returns March 28 through April 1, 2022, with five episodes.

Louis Lohraseb curated the series and will play piano and conduct. Each program will feature chamber music and art songs. Also, each episode will have a short interview with the artists discussing the program.

The first episode will showcase sopranos Liv Redpath and Erica Petrocelli’s performance of various “Mélodies” by Debussy. Their performance also features the newly transcribed and rarely heard work “La fille aux cheveux de lin,” which will include the unpublished second ending.

Episode number two will be played by sister duo Madalyn Parnas, violin and Cicely Parnas, cello. They will perform works by Jocelyn Hagen, Bach, Mark Summer, and Saint-Saëns.

The Parnas sisters return for the third episode along with Lohraseb to form a trio. They will play a sonata by Mozart.

In the fourth episode, viewers will hear a program consisting of Mozart, Brahms, and Schubert’s “Shepherd on the Rock.” Musicians include Narek Arutyunian on clarinet, Chieh-Fan Yiu on violin, as well as returning sopranos Redpath and Petrocelli, and pianist Lohraseb.

The final performance features Petrocelli, Lohraseb, and Parnas on the cello. They will conclude the program with “Mélodies” by Debussy and Fauré, and a trio work by Amy Beach.

The series will be streamed on the Frederick R. Koch Foundation’s website and social media.
