The English Concert is set to return to Opera Omaha as part of its annual US tour to present Handel’s “Hercules.”

The orchestra, which known for performing with historically accurate Baroque instruments, will be joined onstage by the Clarion Choir.

Harry Bicket will lead a cast that includes Ann Hallenberg as Dejanira, William Guanbo Su as Hercules, Hilary Cronin as Iole, Alexander Chance as Lichas, and David Portillo as Hyllus.

The English Concert is an orchestra renowned for quality, ambition and variety of its live and recorded output. Under the artistic direction of Bicket and principal guest Kristian Bezuidenhout, The English Concert has earned a reputation for combining urgency, passion and fire with precision, delicacy and beauty. It performs regularly in Carnegie Hall, Theater an der Wien, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Elbphilharmonie and Barbican Hall.
