The Dallas Opera Announces Fall Programming Updates for TDO Network Series

By Logan Martell

The Dallas Opera has announced new fall programming for their TDO Network as the organization continues to bring music and arts programs to audiences worldwide.

The popular series “Living Your Best Life” with Deanna Breiwick, is set to return with its second season, airing Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Central Time. The new season will focus on the traveling artist, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected a profession spent mainly on the road. Breiwick is also set to make her Dallas Opera debut this season as Clause in the world premiere of Joby Talbot and Gene Scheer’s “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.”

Wednesdays will see “Opera Box Score” with George Cederquist. This program will use a fast-paced sports radio format as six opera experts weigh in on a variety of subjects. Cederquist will be joined by Oliver Camacho, Matt Cummings, Weston Williams, Ashlee Hargrove, and Norm Woodel.

On Fridays, emerging artists will be featured in TDO’s “Stars of Tomorrow” program, showcasing how they have persevered in this difficult time.

TDO also launched “Opera Nightmares” earlier this fall, inspired by “The Twilight Zone” TV series, as well as “Out of the Pit,” which follows TDO orchestra musicians as they collaborate and perform outside traditional venues.

The company’s 2018 production of Bizet’s “Carmen” is currently available to stream until November 8, 2020. The cast includes Stephanie d’Oustrac in the title role, Stephen Costello as Don Jose, Sara Gartland as Micaela, and Alexander Vinogradov as Escamillo.
