The Dallas Opera has announced its fall family and community programming, which includes two family operas and free performances throughout the Dallas area.

First up, the company will present a 35-minute operatic version of “The Town Musicians of Bremen,” with music by Offenbach, Rossini, Donizetti, Sullivan and Verdi and a story by John Davies.

Performance Date: Oct. 17, 2026

“The Bremen Town Musicians” will then get a tour at community venues throughout the fall. Many are given on the OperaTruck, a mobile outdoor stage built on the flatbed of an 18 wheel truck and donated by Board Chair Quincy Roberts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 24 – Dec. 5, 2026

Rachel Portman and librettist Nicholas Wright’s “The Little Prince” returns after selling out last season. The 50-minute version was adapted by Mary Dibbern and features The Dallas Opera Orchestra. Head of Music and Chorus Director Paolo Bressan and Martha R. and Preston A. Peak Fellow Claire Lewis conduct the student matinees.

Performance Dates:  Nov. 2-8, 2026
