
‘The Cunning Little Vixen’ to Be Presented at Staatsoper Stuttgart for the First Time
By Francisco SalazarLeoš Janáček’s “The Cunning Little Vixen” is set to be performed at the Staatsoper Stuttgart for the first time.
The opera will be staged by Stephan Kimmig and will premiere on Nov. 9, 2025.
The new production by Kimmig will center on the confrontation between nature and civilization.
French conductor Ariane Matiakh will conduct the Staatsorchester Stuttgart with a cast that includes Claudia Muschio as the Vixen, Paweł Konik as the Forester, Ida Ränzlöv as the Fox, and Moritz Kallenberg as Teacher and Gnat.
The cast will also include Andrew Bogard, Michael Nagl, Catriona Smith, Torsten Hofmann, Itzeli del Rosario, and Oscar Encinas
The opera will run through Dec. 10, 2025.
