The Crypt Sessions To Present Lucas Meachem

By Francisco Salazar

The Crypt Sessions has announced that Lucas Meachem will perform in a concert featuring Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder.

Per a press release, the baritone will be accompanied by his wife Irina Meachem, who will be six months pregnant when the concert will be presented. The baritone will also perform opera arias from Tchiakovsky’s “Eugene Onegin,” Gluck’s “Iphigénie en Tauride,” and John Corigliano’s “The Ghosts of Versailles,” as well as several of Copland’s Old American Songs.

Meachem is currently performing the role of Robert in “Iolanta” at the Metropolitan Opera and is set to be the University of North Carolina’s artist in residence throughout the month of February. He also returns to the Canadian Opera Company in April for Marcello in “La Boheme,” a role he scored acclaim for earlier at the Metropolitan Opera.

The performance will be held on March 7, 2019.
