The Cleveland Orchestra has announced updates to its musician personnel.

First up, the organization announced that Charles Paul, who has been a member of the bass section since 2022, has taken over duties as first assistant principal bass.

Additionally, the orchestra welcomed Meghan Guegold Hege as assistant/utility horn, Tanner Tanyeri as a percussionist, Youngji Kim and Genevieve Smelser as first violinists, and Liyaun Xie as a second violinist.

Hege will begin on June 26, while Tanyeri, Kim, Smelser, and Xie are set to kick off their tenures on August 28.

“When it comes to assembling this world-class ensemble, I always seek musicians who are the perfect fit and possess an exceptionally high level of musicality. When we come across that special individual, we all recognize that they are the right person for the position,” said music director Franz Welser-Möst.
