The Cincinnati Song Initiative to Launch ‘The Fellowship of the Song’

By Nicolas Quiroga

Cincinnati Song Initiative (CSI) has announced the launch “The Fellowship of the Song,” which will run between May 19-26, 2024.

The training program, which is designed for five exceptional singers and five pianist to further their study and performance opportunities, will provide participants with daily song workshops, two public concerts, and private coachings with such artists as pianist Margo Garrett and baritone William McGraw. Many of the events, including the song workshops and classes, can be audited by anyone.

“Just like we did with the creation of CSI, we are meeting a need by launching The Fellowship of the Song,” said Founding Artistic Director Samuel Martin in an official press statement. “Opportunities for classical artists across America to hone their storytelling skills through the spellbinding genre of song are few and far between, and we’ve set off to not only create such an opportunity, but to create a best-in-class opportunity that has the potential to alter the course of Fellows’ lives.”

The program offered by CSI comes at no cost to the selected fellows;  both applications and the program will be tuition-free. Additionally, participants will be provided with travel reimbursement to Cincinnati, a daily stipend to cover meals and transportation, and complimentary housing during the duration of the program.
