Bare Opera Announces Holiday Concert
By David SalazarBare Opera has announced that it will be showcasing a holiday concert on Dec. 14, 2018.
The performance, which will take place at The New Work Project in Brooklyn at 7 p.m., will feature performances from a wide range of artists, including tenor SungWook Kim, mezzo-soprano Inbar Goldmann, mezzo-soprano Kirsten Scott, and pianist Laetitia Ruccolo. These are all major players with Bare Opera.
The company will also welcome three new artists to the roster. Among them will be soprano Claire de Monteil, who won the 2018 Elizabeth Connell Prize and tied for First Prize in the Giargiari Bel Canto Competition. She has also appeared with Opera Studio Weimar and L’Opéra Grand Avignon.
Also appearing will be soprano Eugenia Forteza who was a finalist of the Concorso Internazionale di Canto Lirico Katia Ricciarelli and has performed with such companies as New Camerata Opera and New Amsterdam Opera throughout fall 2018. She also starred in the world premiere of Felix Jarrar and Bea Goodwin’s “Tabula Rasa.”
Finally, baritone Matthan Ring Black will also perform with the company for the first time. He is a founding member of Chicago Fringe Opera and has also appeared with the Chicago Opera Theater and the Lyric Opera of Chicago as the Male Narrator in Gregory Spears’ “Jason and the Argonauts.”
