The Atlanta Opera’s “Fiddler on the Roof” has been nominated for 12 Suzi Bass Award nominations.

The nominations have resulted in one of the most recognized musical productions of the 2025–26 Atlanta theatre season.

The nominations span 11 categories, including direction, performance, choreography, music direction and five areas of design, culminating in a nomination for Outstanding Production of a Musical.

Among the nominees is Tomer Zvulun, Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. General & Artistic Director of The Atlanta Opera, whose is being recognized for Outstanding Direction of a Musical.

In a statement Zvulun said, “Breaking the boundaries of opera means looking beyond conventional definitions of what an opera company can create and where our artists can make an impact. Fiddler on the Roof brought together the musical scale of opera and the intimacy of theatre in our collaborations with Alliance Theatre. To have that work recognized so broadly by Atlanta’s professional theatre community is profoundly meaningful. These nominations celebrate the extraordinary artists and partners who brought this production to life and affirm The Atlanta Opera’s growing place within the broader cultural landscape.”

“Fiddler on the Roof” was presented at the Alliance Theatre from Sept. 4 through Oct. 12, 2025.
