The Atlanta Opera has announced the six artists selected for its 2026–27 Studio Artist program.

The artists include sopranos Page Michels, mezzo-soprano Ashlyn Brown, tenor Randy Ho, baritone Harrison Hancock, and stage directors Ky Chassells and Madeleine Snow.

Michels, a graduate of The Juilliard School’s Artist Diploma program in Opera Studies, has performed at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.

Brown has apprenticed at Santa Fe Opera, Palm Beach Opera, and Sarasota Opera, and recently debuted as a Fleming Artist at the Aspen Music Festival in 2025.

Ho recently made his Glimmerglass Festival debut and is set to return to Pensacola Opera. Hancock recently completed his Master of Music at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and is a 2026 semifinalist in the George London Competition.

Chassells, a stage director and intimacy director whose credits include assistant work at LA Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Philadelphia, and Detroit Opera, returns to The Atlanta Opera after participating in “The Boheme Project” in 2024.

Snow, a 2024–26 Studio Artist at Arizona Opera’s Marion Roose Pullin Studio, also served as a 2026 Directing Fellow at Wolf Trap Opera.

“Our Studio Artist Program is about giving young professionals the opportunity to learn by doing — to step onto a major stage, work alongside world-class artists, and experience what it means to be part of a professional opera company. As we enter the second decade of this program, we are especially proud of the remarkable alumni community it has created and the exciting careers they have gone on to build,” General and Artistic Director Tomer Zvulun said, per an official press release.
