By Francisco Salazar

The Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) is set to present Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” this March.

The Academy will present the work with Maestro Christofer Macatsoris conducting the AVA Opera Orchestra and Dorothy Danner as stage director.

Danner has staged past AVA operas such as “L’Italiana in Algeri” and “Ariadne auf Naxos.” The cast will be made up of Resident Artists and AVA will announce them later.

This season’s presentation of “Così fan tutte” will mark the 13th time the opera is presented  at AVA. The opera has previously featured such AVA alumni as Ailyn Pérez, Ellie Dehn, and Stephen Costello, among others. It also marks the second opera of the year as it previously presented “Rusalka.”

Performance are scheduled from March 2 to 12, 2019 with a special preview on Feb. 20, 2019, at Center City and Haverford.
