The 18th Giuseppe Di Stefano International Competition For Young Opera Singers Announced

This year marks the 18th installment of the Giuseppe Di Stefano International Competition For Young Opera Singers.

The vocal competition dedicated to the late Sicilian tenor of the same name will be divided into three phases, the preliminary test on April 26 and 27,  the semi-final on the 28th, and the final will take place the following day. Winners will present a concert on April 30th and will be considered for roles in Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia” directed by Daniele Agiman at the 2023 Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese. Other awards include a €1,000 stipend for the Gala Maria Callas, opportunities with BJM Management, masterclasses with Raúl Giménez and Filippo Morace, and more.

The jury is chaired by the superintendent of the ROF – Rossini Ernesto Palacio, with tenor Dietmar Kerschbaum, Jochen Schönleber, Giuseppe Cuccia, and other opera professionals.

Previous winners of the Giuseppe Di Stefano International Competition for Young Opera Singers include Greek soprano Dimitra Theodossiou, tenor Antonino Siragusa, and baritone Nicola Alaimo.

Applications for participation must be received by April 18.
