Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival has released a new video which explores how the organization managed to put together a unique festival experience in 2020.

Entitled “Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival 2020 – Learning from Staging Indoor Performances to a Live Audience During a Pandemic,” the short film not only narrates how the festival pulled off its events throughout the pandemic, but also offers up tips for other companies interested in a similar endeavor.

Among the major pieces of advice the festival offers is “Keeping your planning flexible,” “Have a clear aim,” “Develop a strong network,” Hold your production Lightly,” and “Slow down in the theater,” among others.

Throughout 2020, Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival co-hosted 19 live productions alongside The Cockpit, including a return to indoor performances back in July 2020. The festival saw a total of 107 opera makers working with a total of 435 people watching the shows in person.
