The Téte à téte Festival has announced the program for its 2020 season “in an imaginary world.”
With the cancelation of the actual festival, the company will be replacing it with a more abstract one that may or may not happen in reality.
This new concept will now feature several world premieres that reflect that social milieu.
Among the operas that will be “presented” are
“The Minutes of the Hildegard von Bingen Society for Gardening Companions,” ‘Moon Woman,” “Karakoram,” “The Hive,” “Song of Isis, Goddess of Love,” ‘LOOP,” “Fruit Bowl,” “A Time of Empty Tales,” “The Trilobite, or the Fall of Mr. Williams,” “A & E,” “Siddhartha,” “Paradise Lost,” “The Buddha, the Monkey King, and the Monk of the River,” “Olga’s Story,” “The Agency,” “Muisc and the Brain,” “BIRD,” “Timeless Figure,” “The Manna Threshold,” “We Sing / I Sang,” “The Bridge Between Breaths,” “Minutes to Midnight: A Nuclear Opera,” “Last Party on Earth,” “Elena,” “Persephone’s Dream,” “Baby Girl,” “Her War,” “Tiresias 2.0,” “The Crocodile of Old Kang Pow,” “Beethoven Was a Lesbian,” “Nous,” Bubbies the Zebrafish & The No. 8 Bus,” “Bread and Circuses,” and “Goblin Market.”
The company has created a webpage on its website for each opera premiere where artists can share their processes.
That said, there are actually some events taking place in the real world. These events were all canceled “due to COVID-19.”
