Teresa Iervolino, Jakub Józef Orlinski & Delphine Galou Highlight Festival de Beaune 2020

The Festival international d’Opéra Baroque & Romantique Beaune has announced its 2020 program, consisting of seven operas and oratorios, and three vocal works.

Operas and Oratorios

Mozart and Schikaneder opera “Die Zauberflöte” will showcase Julian Prégardien, Mari Eriksmoen, Sarah Traubel, Andreas Wolf, Elena Galitskaya, Jan Martinik, Maxime Melnik, Norma Nahoun, Valentina Stadler, and Guilhem Worms. Jérémie Rhorer will conduct the Orchestre Le Cercle De L’Harmonie.

Performance Date: July 10, 2020

Salieri and Coltellini’s Drama per Musica “Armida” will feature Lenneke Ruiten, Teresa Iervolino, Vannina Santoni, and Ashley Riches. Christophe Rousset will conduct the Orchestra Les Talens Lyriques.

Performance Date: July 11, 2020

Monteverdi and Badoardo’s  Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria” will star Valerio Contaldo, Anthea Pichanick, Maxime Melnik, Ayako Yukawa, Alberto Allegrezza, Marie Perbost, Luigi De Donato, Ambroisine Bré, Cyril Auvity, Carlo Vistoli, Pierre-Antoine Chaumien, and Fabien Hyon. Stéphane Fuget is set to conduct the Orchestra Les Epopees.

Performance Date: July 18, 2020

Pasticcio’s “Tell me the Truth about Love” consists of opera arias of Handel, Vivaldi, Rameau and Mozart. The original libretto by Ian Burton and Robert Carsen will spotlight soprano Lea Desandre and countertenor Jakub Józef Orlinski.

Performance Date: July 24, 2020

Händel’s oratorio “Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” will feature Ana Maria Labin, Emmanuelle de Negri, Delphine Galou, and Emiliano Gonzalez Toro. Ottavio Dantone will conduct the Orchestra Accademia Bizantina.

Performance Date: July 25, 2020

Bach’s “Magnificat” BWV 243 in D major will showcase soprano Mariana Flores, countertenor Christopher Lowrey, tenor Valerio Contaldo, and bass Christian Immler. Leonardo García Alarcón is set to conduct the Orchestre Capella Mediterranea.

Performance Date: July 26, 2020

A new production of Vivaldi’s Drama per Musica “L’Olimpiade” will star Carlo Vistoli, Chiara Skerath, Ana Maria Labin, Ambroisine Bré, Riccardo Novaro, and Jean-Jacques L’Anthoën. Jean-Christohe Spinosi will conduct the Ensemble Matheus.

Recitals

Soprano Mari Eriksmoen will sing arias from Händel and Mozart’s operas with Antoine Palloc at the piano.

Performance Date: July 12, 2020

Soprano Chiara Skerath will give a recital consisting of works by Mozart and Gluck alongside pianist Antoine Palloc.

Performance Date: July 19, 2020

Countertenor Andreas Scholl will perform a program entitled “Neapolitan arias and cantatas from 17th and 18th Centuries,” including works by Händel, Scarlatti and Porpora. Dorothee Oberlinger will conduct and play the flute.
