
Tenor Matheus Pompeu Joins Zelaya Artists for Management
By Francisco SalazarTenor Matheus Pompeu has joined the roster of Zelaya Artists for worldwide management.
Spanish-Brazilian tenor Matheus Pompeu has already performed main roles such as Alfredo (“La Traviata”), Edgardo (“Lucia di Lamermoor”), Duca di Mantova (“Rigoletto”) and Pinkerton (“Madama Butterfly”), in important opera houses like Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Polish National Opera and Palau de les Arts de Valencia, among others.
Pompeu won the fourth International Adam Didur Opera Singers Competition in Poland and was also awarded with the Carlos Gomes Medal of cultural merit in Brazil for his significant contribution to the field of music and culture. He was nominated for the International Opera Awards 2019 for his recording of “Halka” and has also recorded such operas as “Il Corsaro,” “Paria,” and “Flis.”
