Tenor Daniel McGrew Among Winners of 2021 Young Concert Artists’ International Audition

The Young Concert Artists have announced their 2021 International Audition winners.

The winners include tenor 28-year-old Daniel McGrew of the U.S. Other winners include violinist Lun Li (25), pianist Ying Li (23), and pianist Harmony Zhu (the youngest winner, aged 15).

The quartet appeared in a Winners Concert at Gilder Lehrman Hall in New York City on Nov.1. The final round took place on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Center; audiences can watch both the Winners Concert and Final Auditions on the Young Concert Artists’ YouTube and Facebook pages.

The winners will join the roster of Young Concert Artists.

Jury members for this year’s competition included soprano Amy Burton, flutist Brandon Patrick George, conductors Miguel Harth-Bedoya and David Alan Miller, pianist and vocal coach Kayo Iwama, YCA President Daniel Kellogg, violinist Jennifer Koh, pianists Cecile Licad and Anne-Marie McDermott, Philadelphia Orchestra Vice President of Artistic Planning Jeremy Rothman, violist Marcus Thompson, YCA Founder Susan Wadsworth, and cellist Paul Watkins.
