Teatro Sao Carlos Announces Gala

The Teatro Nacional de Sao Carlos in Lisbon, Portugal has announced an opera gala.

The gala, which is set to take place on June 27 and 28, will star Dora Rodrigues, Rita Marques, Cátia Moreso, Carlos Cardoso, and André Henriques. José Eduardo Gomes will conduct the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa.

The program will include works by Mascagni, Offenbach, Leoncavallo, Massenet, Verdi, and Bizet.

The gala will mark the reopening of the Teatro Sao Carlos, which closed in March due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The theater will comply with new regulations set by the government in order to reopen it.

Portugal has confirmed a total of 39,133 coronavirus cases with 1,530 deaths. The country has been reporting fewer daily cases in the past weeks.
