Teatro San Carlo Cancels Performance Due to Strike

By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro San Carlo di Napoli has canceled its performance on May 28 due to a strike.

The company said, “We inform the kind public that, due to the strike proclaimed by the theater workers, the comic opera “Don Quixote della Mancia” by Giovanni Paisiello, scheduled for May 28 at 7 pm, will be canceled and rescheduled on a date to be determined.”

As a result, ticketholders will be able to change their tickets for another performance from the 2023-24 season. They will also have the option of getting a refund.

This is the second performance affected by the strike. Pretty Yende and Nadine Sierra’s concert went on without an orchestra and performed with piano.

The Teatro San Carlo next presents “Anna Bolena” with Maria Agresta.
