
Teatro San Carlo Announces Cast Change for ‘Tosca’
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro San Carlo has announced a cast change for its upcoming production of Puccini’s “Tosca.”
The company said, “We regret to inform our audience that Jonas Kaufmann has been forced to cancel his participation in the role of Cavaradossi in the opera ‘Tosca’ for an occurred date change, with the result of an unsolvable calendar incompatibility.”
As a result, the role of Cavaradossi will be performed by Francesco Meli on Sept. 10, 13, 1,6, and 21, Vittorio Grigolo on Sept. 12 and 14, and Yusif Eyvazov on Sept. 20 and 23.
Meli will perform alongside Sondra Radvanovsky, Anna Pirozzi, and Luca Salsi while Grigolo and Eyvazov will sing alongside Carmen Giannattasio and Claudio Sgura.
