The Teatro San Carlo di Napoli has announced a cast change for its performance of “Lucia di Lammermoor” on Jan. 21.

The company noted that Nadine Sierra will be replaced in the role of Lucia by Jessica Pratt for the performance.

Pratt is one of the most acclaimed Lucias of her generation having sung the role more than 100 times at the Metropolitan Opera, Opera de Oviedo, Opera Australia, Bilbao Opera, Opernhaus Zurich, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Deutsche Oper Berlin among others.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Gabriele Viviani, Pene Pati, and Dario Russo. Carlo Montanaro conducts the production by Gianni Amelio.

Sierra returns to the opera for the performance on Jan. 23, 2022.
