Teatro Regio di Parma to Remain Closed due to Coronavirus

The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced that it will remain until March 8, 2020.

The company announced that in compliance with measures being put in place across the Emilia-Romagna region aimed at restricting the spread of Coronavirus, the Teatro Regio di Parma is closing to the public until March 8.

This is third theater to announce it will remain closed after the Teatro la Fenice and the Teatro alla Scala announced earlier Sunday March 1, 2020.

The Teatro Regio di Parma’s closure will affect a number of concert performances including one by Martina Filjak and I Solisti di Zagabria as well as rehearsals for its upcoming production of Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande,” which opens on March 14, 2020.

According to reports the number of coronavirus cases in Italy spiked to 1,694, with 34 deaths so far. The outbreak has also resulted in Delta Air Lines suspending its US flights to Milan.
