Teatro Regio di Parma Releases New Children’s Book
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro Regio di Parma has released a new children’s book “Maria Luigia, la Violetta di Parma.”
The new book, created and written by Cristina Bersanelli with illustrations by Patrizia Barbieri, is dedicated to the Duchess of Parma’s love for music and violets.
In a press release, Bersanelli said, “This book is dedicated to Maria Luigia as a homage to the woman who transformed Parma from an impoverished city to the ‘Piccola Parigi,’ as it has been called, and elected the Italian Capital of culture 2020+21.”
The new children’s book comes after the success of Bersanelli and Barbieri’s first book “Giuseppe Verdi, Il Cigno di Busseto,” which showcased the composer’s life and creativity.
The books are intended for children to enjoy and to learn about the world of opera and were created for kids between five to 10 years old. The books, which are featured in both Italian and English language versions, can be bought at the Teatro Regio di Parma’s store.
