Teatro Regio Di Parma Announces 2020 Season

The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced its 2020 season, featuring four operatic gems.

Rebeka Lokar, France Dariz and Giovanna Casolla share the title role in Puccini’s “Turandot.” Carlo Ventre and Samuele Simoncini share the role of Calaf, Giacomo Prestia and George Andguladze alternate as Timur and Vittoria Yeo sings the role of Liù with Marta Tordidoni also taking on some performances. Valerio Galli conducts.

Performance Dates: Jan. 10-19, 2020

Monica Bacelli and Phillip Addis star in Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande.” The two are joined by Christian Senn, Bjarni Thor Kristinsson, and legendary mezzo Jennifer Larmore with Marco Angius conducting.

Performance Dates: March 14-22, 2020

Christopher Franklin conducts Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s “The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny” in a new production by Henning Brockhaus. The opera stars Christopher Lemmings, Marianne Cornetti, Chris Merritt, Luiz Ottavio Faria, Anne-Maire Kremer, Brendel Gunnell, Eric Greene, and Martin Hässler.

Performance Dates: May 8-15, 2020

Stefano Franceschini conducts scenes from Verdi’s “Rigoletto.”

Performance Dates: March 27-April 5, 2020
