On July 6, the Teatro Real is set to present Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” on Facebook Live.

The cast will star Francesco Meli in the title role, Maria Agresta, Ekaterina Semenchuk in her signature role of Azucena, and star baritone Ludovic Tézier. Roberto Tagliavini rounds out the cast as Ferrando in Francisco Negrin’s new production. Maurizio Benini conducts the Verdi work.

The opera continues the Teatro Real’s summer Facebook Live transmissions seen over the past season. Last year, the company presented a historic “Lucia di Lammermoor” with Lisette Oropesa and Javier Camarena, and two seasons ago Diana Damrau and Javier Camarena headlined a starry “I Puritani.”

“Il Trovatore” opened July 3, 2019 and is set to run until July 25, 2019. Piero Pretti and Hibla Gerzmava head a second cast.
