The Teatro Real and the Gran Teatre del Liceu are joining forces to showcase operas on the streaming platform MyOperaPlayer.com

The company will offer free streams starting on March 19 with programming already set through March 25.

It all begins with “Aida” followed by “Madama Butterfly,” “Romeo et Juliette,” “Un Ballo in Maschera,” “La Traviata,” “La Bohème,” and “Macbeth.”

The companies will also showcase “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “Rigoletto,” “Norma,” and Le Nozze di Figaro.”

In order to watch the streams for free, users must enter the code OPERAENCASA starting March 18.

The Teatro Real and Gran Teatre del Liceu are the latest major companies to stream opera for free. The Wiener Staatsoper, Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper Staatsoper unter Linden, Rossini Opera Festival, Teatro Regio di Torino, and Teatro Massimo di Palermo announced similar initiatives last week.
