The Teatro Real de Madrid and the Opéra National de Paris will both be given major awards by Diálogo, Asociación de amistad Hispano-Francesa, an organization aimed at strengthening the Hispanic-French connection throughout Europe.

The ceremony is set for June 19 in Madrid where Gregorio Marañon, president of the Teatro Real, and Jean Pierre Clamadieu, president of the Opéra de Paris, will both be honored.

Per writer Carmen Posada, who presides over the jury, the two organizations are being honored for their “extraordinary contribution and projection of the theatrical arts on an international level.”

Other organizations to receive the distinction from Diálogo include the Museo del Prado and Musée du Louvre. Among the major artists and celebrities to win the award are Yasmina Reza and Mario Vargas Llosa; Isabelle Huppert and Carlos Saura; and Mireia Belmonte and Zinedine Zidane.
