Teatro Principal Fires Hugo de Ana for ‘La Traviata’

The Teatro Principal in Mallorca, Spain has fired Hugo de Ana from its production of Verdi’s “La Traviata” following accusations of inadequate behavior.

According to reports, the theater received numerous complaints regarding de Ana’s behavior in rehearsals toward members of the artistic team. The theater said that the decision was made in order to have a “good work environment. ”

The rest of the team will remain intact and de Ana will not direct the production.

Verdi’s “La Traviata” is set to star Lana Kos, Long Long, and Simone Piazzola. Lucía Marín conducts the production which is a co-production with the Teatro Nacional de Croacia, Zagreb.
