Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo & Ópera de Colombia to Present Verdi Gala
By David SalazarThe Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo and the Ópera de Colombia are teaming up to celebrate the 210th anniversary of Verdi’s birth with a special gala.
The event, set for Oct. 18, 2023, will star soprano María Katzarava, tenor Alessandro Fantoni, soprano Diana Rojas, baritone Rodrigo Esteves, and bass Valeriano Lanchas.
The program will feature excerpts from “Nabucco,” “Don Carlo,” “Un Ballo in Maschera,” “La Forza del Destino,” “Rigoletto,’ “Aida,” “I Vespri Siciliani,” “Il Trovatore,” “Macbeth,” “La Traviata,” and the Requiem.
The performance will be conducted by Enrique Patrón de Rueda, who leads the Orquesta Filarmónica Juvenil and Coro Filarmónico Juvenil de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá.
