Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo Announces 2021 Programming

The Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Colombia has announced its 2021 programming and V Festival Internacional de Música Clásica de Bogotá .

The programming will be comprised of 28 digital performances while the V Festival Internacional de Música Clásica de Bogotá will feature an all baroque program featuring 31 concerts from Nov. 12 to 15, 2021.

The festival will showcase four orchestras, five conductors, three choruses, six ensembles, 18 soloists, and nine singers. The events will be held on 12 different stages in Bogotá including Suba, La Candelaria, Teusaquillo, Barrios Unidos, Ciudad Bolívar, Tunjuelito, and Kennedy. Among the orchestras present during the festival will be The English Concert.

During the season the Teatro Mayor will present “Das Rheingold” with Andrés Orozco-Estrada conducting. The season will also include Alexandre da Costa, Victoria Mullova, Nicola Benedetti, Alexander Panizza, and Javier Perianes.

The 2021 season will also shine a spotlight on the country of Canada as its “special guest of the year,” featuring classical music, dance, and theater from around the country.
