The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari has canceled its opening performance of “Mefistofele” due to the strike.

In a statement via social media star Latoinia Moore said, “So…tonight was supposed to be my role debut as Margherita in Boito’s Mefistofele here Teatro Lirico di cagliari. Due to rolling strikes all around Europe, the company has decided to completely cancel the premiere. To say I’m disappointed would definitely be an understatement. Apologies to the audience, and fingers crossed that show number 2 will happen!”

The opera’s opening performance was set to star Rafał Siwek, Marco Berti, Guadalupe Barrientos, and Karine Babajanyan. The next performance is scheduled for Nov. 18, 2023 and the production will run through Nov. 26, 2023
