The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari  has announced a cast change for “Aida.”

The company said that Jennifer Rowley will sing the title role on July 11, 13, 16, 18, and 20, replacing Marigona Qerkezi, who was originally announced but is jumping into a production of “Il Trovatore” at the Royal Opera House.

Rowley announced the news via social media and said, “I’m heading back to Italy this weekend to jump into a production of Aida at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari with performances in July! This will be my second time in Cagliari this season, and my second Aida jump in! Definitely feeling more prepared this time!! I can’t wait to join the incredible cast and get to revisit Aida sooner than expected! Thank you to my brilliant managers at stage door, and Fletcher Artists for my reunion with this role! I had missed it and I’m thrilled to be singing it this summer in Cagliari, and then in the fall at the Washington National Opera!!”

Rowley has performed the role of Aida at the Teatro Colón and the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Rowley is set to join a cast that includes Peter Martincic, Enkelejda Shkoza, Antonello Palombi, George Andguladze, and Devid Cecconi.  Gianluca Marcianò conducts the production by Franco Zeffirelli.
