Teatro La Fenice to Present World Premiere of ‘Le Baruffe’

The Teatro La Fenice is set to world premiere “Le baruffe” by Giorgio Battistelli.

The new opera was commissioned by Teatro La Fenice and will be presented from Feb. 22 through March 4, 2022 for five performances. Damiano Michieletto will direct the production, which will be also be streamed on YouTube on Feb. 28.

The new work, which is based on the Venice comedy “Le baruffe chiozzotte” by Carlo Goldoni, was written by Damiano Michieletto and will feature set designs by Paolo Fantin, costumes by Carla Teti, lighting by Alessandro Carletti, and Choreography by Thomas Wilhelm.

Enrico Calesso will conduct the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro La Fenice with a cast that includes Alessandro Luongo as padron Toni, Valeria Girardello as madonna Pasqua, Francesca Sorteni as Lucietta, and Enrico Casari as Titta-Nane.

The cast will be rounded out by Marcello Nardis, Rocco Cavalluzzi, Loriana Castellano, Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli, Silvia Frigato, Pietro Di Bianco, Leonardo Cortellazzi, and Federico Longhi.
