Teatro La Fenice Board Finds New Board Member

By Francisco Salazar

The Ministro della Cultura Alessandro Giuli has announced a replacement to Alessandro Totaro, who resigned from the board of the Teatro la Fenice.

The Minister said that he had appointed  the lawyer Antonio Forza, University professor, former head of supervisory bodies in private and public entities and expert in organizational and management models.

The appointment was officially communicated to the President of the Foundation, Luigi Brugnaro, Mayor of Venice.

Totaro resigned from the board following the appointment of Beatrice Venezi as the Music Director sighting that there was never a vote on the appointment of the conductor.

Totaro was the latest to protest the naming of Venezi’s appointment following Domenico Muti, who cited a bad “climate” in the theater and the workers of the theater, who have protested the appointment due to Venezi’s closeness to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government.
