Teatro Grattacielo To Celebrate 25th Anniversary This September With Verismo Trilogy

The Teatro Grattacielo will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with a gala performance featuring three unique works by Italian composers.

The performance, set for Sept. 28, 2019 at the Gerald Lynch Theater, will feature the first act from Leoncavallo’s “La Bohème,” Act two from Catalani’s “Loreley,” and the third act from Respighi’s “Sleeping Beauty.” The performance will be conducted by Israel Gursky.

“La Bohème” will feature Alessio Boraggine, Suchan Kim, Stefanos Koroneos, Robert Balonek, Anna Tonna, Susanne Burgess, Ronald Naldi, Emily Hughes, Stefano de Peppo, and Jordan Weatherston Pitts.

Kirsten Chambers will star as Loreley and will be joined by Ashley Bell and Jeremy Brauner in the Catalani work.

Finally, the cast for “Sleeping Beauty” will feature Balonek, Tonna, Thomas Massey, Koroneos, Burgess, Joanna Mongiardo, Kim, and Sarah Johnson.

The company has previously performed a number of rare Italian works of the verismo era including “I Cavaleri di Ekebù,” “Guglielmo Ratcliff,” “La Farsa Amorosa,” and “L’Arlesiana.”
