Teatro Grattacielo & Camerata Bardi to Present ‘Idomeneo alla Breve’ in Greece

Teatro Grattacielo and Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy has announced a performance of Mozart’s “Idomeneo alla Breve” this September in Greece.

The showcase, which is set to take place on Sept. 7, will be presented in collaboration with the Rhodes International Festival and Cultural Center of Crete. There will also be a Gala Concert on Sept. 9 dedicated to legendary soprano Maria Callas.

The opera and the gala will feature Kinneret Ely, Eva Marco, Wing-Kwan Chung, Marios Maniatopoulos, and Nikitas Grizalis. Stefanos Koroneos directs with projection and lighting design by Lance Lewis. Kostas Tzanedakis will provide the costumes.

“It is a special pleasure and honor for us to collaborate with the Rhodes International Festival with the Teatro Grattacielo & Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy for two performances. The festival takes place at the famous Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, the famous Palace of the Grand Magister -Palace of the Knights, located in the medieval city which has been classified by UNESCO’s catalog as a Monument of World Cultural Heritage. With the opera ‘Idomeneo’ which is inspired by Greek mythology and the history of King Idomeneas of Crete, the 14th Rhodes International Festival celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution,” stated Penelope Sendari, General and Artistic Director of the Rhodes International Festival.
