Teatro dell’Opera di Roma to Present World premiere of ‘L’ultimo viaggio di Sindbad’

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is set to present the world premeiere of Silvia Colasanti’s “L’ultimo viaggio di Sindbad.”

The company will conclude the 2023-24 season and was commissioned by Fondazione Capitolina.

The new work is part of a project of three contemporary operas. Next season, the company will present the Italian premiere of “Adriana Mater” by Kaija Saariaho in a production by Peter Sellar followed by “Inferno” by Lucia Ronchetti.

“L’ultimo viaggio di Sindbad” features a libretto by Fabrizio Sinisi and is inspired from the text by Erri De Luca. Luca Micheletti leads teh cast that also includes Roberto Frontali, Paolo Antognetti, Roberto Abbondanza, Vincenzo Capezzuto, Giorgio Misseri, Daniela Cappello, Elisa Balbo, Alice Rossi, Annunziata Vestri, Valentina Gargano, Maria Cristina Napoli, Eduardo Niave, Nicola Straniero, Benedetta Marchesi, and Alessandro Della Morte.

“L’ultimo viaggio di Sindbad” will be presented at the Teatro Nazionale from Oct. 16 through Oct. 23, 2024.
