Teatro dell’Opera di Roma to Present ‘Gianni Schicchi / L’heure espagnole’

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is set to present a double bill “Gianni Schicchi / L’heure espagnole.”

The production will be directed by Ersan Mondtag and conducted by Michele Mariotti.

“Gianni Schicchi” will star Carlo Lepore, Vuvu Mpofu, Sonia Ganassi, and Giovanni Sala. It will be rounded by Ya-Chung Huang (Gherardo), Roberto Accurso (Betto), Nicola Ulivieri (Simone), Daniele Terenzi (Marco), Domenico Colaianni (Spinelloccio), Alessandro Guerzoni (Pinellino), Daniele Massimi (Guccio), Valentina Gargano (Nella), Ekaterine Buachidze (La Ciesca), and Mattia Rossi (Ser Amantio di Nicolao). ” Ravel’s opera will star Ya-Chung Huang, Karine Deshayes, Giovanni Sala, Nicola Ulivieri, and Markus Werba.

The double comes after the company presented “Il tabarro/Il castello del Principe Barbablù” in 2022 and is set to conclude the project in 2025 with a double bill of “Suor Angelica/Il prigioniero.”

The double bill will be presented on Feb. 7 through Feb. 16, 2024.
