Teatro dell’Opera di Roma to Launch Daily Streaming

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is launching a digital streaming service on its website operaroma.it with the initiative “La Musica non ferma.”

The service will include performances from the last few years.

It all starts with Puccini’s “Tosca” on March 18. The cast includes Oksana Dyka, Stefano La Colla, and Roberto Frontali. Donato Renzetti conducts. The work will also be streamed on March 21.

Then Giordano’sAndrea Chenier will be shown in Marco Bellocchio’s production. The opera will star Gregory Kunde, Roberto Frontali, and  Maria José Siri with Robert Abbado conducting. It will be streamed on March 19 and 22.

The first week will conclude with the ballet “Don Chisciotte,” with a choreography by Laurent Hilaire. The ballet stars Iana Salenko and Isaac Hernández and will be streamed on March 20 and 25.

Hans Werner Henze’sThe Bassarids” is conducted by Stefan Soltesz and stars Ladislav Elgr, Russell Braun, Mark S. Doss, Erin Caves, and Veronica Simeoni. The stream will be shown on March 24 and 27.

On March 25 and 28, Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice” is set to be shown with a cast that includes Carlo Vistoli, Mariangela Sicilia, and Emöke Barath.

On March 26 and 29, Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” will be shown in a production by Àlex Ollé de La Fura dels Baus. Yves Abel conducts a cast that includes Asmik Grigorian, Angelo Villari, Anna Malavasi, and Alessio Arduini.

There will also be podcasts with “Lezioni di Opera.”
