Teatro dell’Opera di Roma Reschedules ‘Luisa Miller’

By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma will present “Luisa Miller” on April 30.

Michele Mariotti will conduct the rarely performed Verdi work, which has not been heard at the Teatro Costanzi since 1990. The concert performance will feature Michele Pertusi, Antonio Poli, Daniela Barcellona, Marko Mimica, and Roberto Frontali. The title role will be sung by Roberta Mantegna and the cast will be completed by Irene Savignano and Rodrigo Ortiz.

The April 30 performance will be performed for a live audience and will be broadcast on Rai Radio3. On May 8, the work will be streamed via operaroma.tv and the company’s YouTube page.

“Lusia Miller” was originally scheduled to be performed on April 20 without an audience but was postponed due to COVID-19 infections. The Opera di Roma reopened on April 28 and is performing to a reduced audience.
