By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has postponed its production of Bach’s “La Passione” until 2024.

The company announced that due to peculiarities of the production and in agreement with Romeo Castellucci and the entire team, the production will no longer be presented on April 10, 12, and 13, 2022. The new dates in 2024 will be determined at a later date.

The issues arose due to the pandemic which made it impossible to realize the project in the best way.

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma next presents “Turandot,” “I Puritani” and “Ernani.” There will also be a production of “The Corsair.” This summer the company returns to the Caracallaand will present productions of Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia,” Bizet’s “Carmen” and Bernstein’s “Mass.”
