By Francisco Salazar

The “Festa dell’albero della legalità,” was held on Feb. 10 by the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

The day’s purpose was to educate the younger generations and school students who attend the Teatro dell’Opera about legality, the fight against organized crime, and respect for the environment and ecology.

In a statement, superintendent Francesco Giambrone said, “Just a few days ago, we were in the theater to remember the victims of the Shoah, this morning, we are here for the victims of the mafia and in the afternoon for those of the sinkholes. To underline that the Theater is a place of memory and memory is fundamental so that the mistakes of the past are not repeated”.

With the delivery of the tree, the Theater becomes the place in the city to keep and preserve memory with the obligation to maintain daily attention to legality.

During the event, the Band of the Local Police of Rome, dressed in historical uniform, performed the Italian anthem and, at the conclusion, the European anthem.
