Teatro dell’Opera di Roma Begins Fundraising Campaign

By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has started a fundraiser entitled “I Love Roma Aperta” to help the opera company remain open.

On its official website, the company wrote, “The theater remains closed due to the Coronavirus emergency. If you love music as much as we do and believe that a world without opera or ballet cannot exist, please help us overcome this difficult moment.”

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma was forced to cancel all performances earlier in February and remains closed until the middle of May. The company is still scheduled to perform during the summer in the Caracalla and to showcase two productions in the fall.

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is currently showcasing streams on its website from past performances. This week, the company will showcase “La Sonnambula” with Jessica Pratt and Juan Francisco Gatell highlighting the production.
