The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is set to reopen the Teatro Costanzi with two choral concerts.

The company announced that the reopening concert, entitled “Il Teatro Canta” will feature the women’s chorus and will be presented on July 14 and 18.

The performance will also feature Roberto Gabbiani conducting with pianist Marco Forgione accompanying music by Schumann, Rachmaninov, and Holst.

In order to maintain new regulations due to COVID-19, the concert will showcase the chorus singing throughout the theater with the audience in the orchestra section in a socially distanced fashion. A total of 170 seats will be available. Additionally, each audience member will be assigned specific seats.

In addition to the reopening of the Teatro Costanzi, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is set to perform an outdoor summer season featuring productions of “Rigoletto” and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” as well as a concert with Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov.
