The Teatro del Giglio has named Cataldo Russo Artistic Diretor.

Administrator Giorgio Angelo Lazzarini announced the news and noted that the position will be official in September in a press conference.

Russo will work with the theater to create national and international projects as well as productions of great value.

Russo has curated many projects for the Teatro del Giglio including “L’amore ai tempi del colera” (2007), “Don Chisciotte” (2008), “Stanza 101 liberamente” inspired by 1984 (2009), and GigliOperaLab. He also worked on the project “Il mondo è un palcoscenico.”

As a director he has directed Puccini’s “Turandot” (Seoul – Sejong Art Center, 2017), Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” (Seoul – Sejong Art Center, 2018), Mozart’s “Così fan tutte,” Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” and Rossini’s “La Cambiale di matrimonio” (Opéra de Chambre – Genève 2019-2021-2022).
