Teatro de la Zarzuela to Present ‘El año pasado por agua’

“El año pasado por agua” is headed to the Teatro de la Zarzuela this February.

The work, which features music by Federico Chueca and Joaquín Valverde and a libretto by Ricardo de la Vega, is a “revista” in one act and four scenes. The work, which features an inundated town and Neptune himself in conversation with the New Year and a governmental leader, is a satirical piece renowned for its catchy score.

The comic “revista” will be directed by Marta Eguilior. Lara Diloy will conduct the performances. The cast includes Claudia Bravo, Anna Castells, Andro Crespo, and Albert Díaz, among others.

“El año pasado por agua” opens on Feb. 23 and runs through March 1 for a total of seven performances.
