Teatro de la Zarzuela to Pay Tribute to Victoria de los Ángeles

The Teatro de la Zarzuela in collaboration with the Fundación Victoria de los Ángeles will pay tribute to legendary soprano Victoria de los Ángeles.

The concert will take place on March 12 and will showcase 14 singers accompanied by the Orquesta Victoria de los Ángeles under Pedro Pardo. Marc Busquets will stage the concert which commemorates the soprano’s centennial.

The program will include works by Frederic Mompou, Joaquín Turina, Eduard Toldrà, Manuel García Morante, Federico Chueca, Pablo Sorozábal, Ruperto Chapí, Manuel Penella, Jaime Ovalle, Enrique Granados, Fernando Obradors, Joaquín Rodrigo, Francisco Asenjo Barbieri, Manuel de Falla, Gerónimo Giménez, Rafael Calleja y Tomás Barrera, Xavier Montsalvatge, Ernesto Halffter, Léo Delibes, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonín Dvořák, and Georges Bizet.

The performance will include soloists David Alegret, José Bros, Mariola Cantarero, Mercedes Gancedo, Airam Hernández, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, David Menéndez, María José Montiel, Josep-Ramon Olivé, Helena Ressurreição, Ofelia Sala, Montserrat Seró, Carmen Solís, and Miren Urbieta-Vega.
