Teatro de la Zarzuela Extends General Director’s Contract

The Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música has announced that Daniel Bianco has extended his contract as director of the Teatro de la Zarzuela.
Bianco, who took the position in 2015, will continue the position until 2023.
The general director of INAEM, Amaya de Miguel, with the Consejo Artístico de la Música, decided on the renovation of Bianco’s contract.
With the extension, Bianco will be able to conclude a project dedicated to the reconstruction of the theaters.
Before the Teatro de la Zarzeula, Bianco was the technical director of the Centro Dramático Nacional, Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico and the Teatro Real. He was also the artistic director Teatro Arriaga de Bilbao.
The Teatro de la Zarzuela is currently showing “Cecilia Valdes” for the first time and is set present “Luisa Fernanda” and “La Tadernera del Puerto.”
